How To Make Apple Cider

Combine your favorite variety of apples – or whatever type you gathered at the orchard – in a pot with water, sugar, vanilla, a squeeze of lime juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. Once the apples have tenderized on the stove, puree the mixture completely in a blender. Once the mixture is smooth, strain it through a strainer or cheesecloth for a clearer result. Straining may take some time, but once it is complete you can serve the cider either hot or cold and the leftover pulp can be used in baked goods. If you want to add a little punch to your cider, you can make it more adult-friendly hard cider with the addition of your preferred alcohol. In this video, Chef Susie provides an online cooking lesson for making the perfect fall apple cider. For more great cooking demonstration videos, subscribe to the LearnToCookOnline YouTube channel.
