How To Make The Best Burritos

This portable option typically includes all the elements of a meal wrapped in a tortilla. The enclosed contents are typically made up of a type of meat, beans, rice, salsa, guacamole, cheese, lettuce and sour cream. Like sandwiches, burritos can greatly range in flavors and styles. Some burritos can contain fresh vegetables, pico de gallo and black beans while others are served piping hot with melted cheese, refried beans, steak or smothered in a red chili sauce. Burritos are easy to make at home and can be served alongside beans and rice or as a meal unto themselves. How you build your burrito is up to you, making this a perfect option for families with picky eaters. Burritos Recipe:
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:
1 pound Ground beef
3 ounces Onion, small dice
2 each Green chilies, peeled, seeded and chopped
½ teaspoon Garlic, minced
½ teaspoon Roasted cumin
½ teaspoon Kosher salt
¼ teaspoon Black pepper
16 ounces Refried beans
6 each Flour tortillas (12 inches)
4 ounces Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
Taco seasoning to taste
4 teaspoon Canola oil
1 cup Lettuce, shredded
1 cup Sour cream
½ cup Salsa

Directions:
1. Heat a large skillet; add half of the oil, heat oil and sauté onions, garlic, green chilies, cumin, taco seasoning for 3-4 minutes
2. Add beef and brown
3. In a saucepan cook refried beans until hot
4. Spoon about ¼ cup of beans in the center of each tortilla, top with ¼ cup beef mixture. Sprinkle with cheese and fold sides and ends of tortilla over filling and roll up
5. Heat the large skillet; add oil and brown burritos over medium-high heat and brown burritos on all sides
6. Garnish with sour cream, shredded lettuce, salsa and serve
