How To Make Veggie Burgers

Whether you are trying to avoid eating meat for a meal, you’re trying to sneak in more vegetables, or you just want a healthier alternative, veggie burgers are a great option. These burgers can pack a lot of protein with beans and legumes while also providing fiber and vegetables that other burgers cannot. Use a binder like old fashioned oats with an egg and grated carrot, zucchini and yellow squash, as well as sautéed onion and garlic. You can add lentils, beans, and any flavor profile you please. Flavor a veggie patty, just as you would a normal burger or jazz it up with southwestern, Indian or Italian spices. Allow the mix to chill so you can shape the patties and press in flour before placing on the griddle. In this video, Chef Mark provides an online cooking lesson for making a nutritious veggie burger. For more great cooking demonstration videos, subscribe to the LearnToCookOnline YouTube channel.
