Empanadas can be made in a variation of ways and can either be baked or fried. Many different countries have their own way of making them. They can be prepared with many different types of fillings, from traditional flavorsome fillings to mouthwatering sweet fillings. In order to make an empanada you will need pastry dough which can be found in the frozen section of your grocery store.  The next step is deciding what kind of filling you want to fill your empanada with. Chef Cesar has chosen to make two different types; one with chorizo, poblano peppers, and chihuahua cheese and the other with apples and sugar. Next, add your filling to the pastry dough. Take your egg wash and brush on the edge of the pastry dough so that when you fold it over it will stay closed. Once you have sealed each one brush over some of your egg wash so that it gives it that golden color when cooking them. Have fun when making your empanadas and try a variety of different fillings so every bite is a surprise.
