Homemade Pizza Dough That Will Wow Your Guests

When you are enrolled in an online culinary course, there will likely be a unit that focuses on baking & pastry arts. Whether you are cooking a pizza, homemade pie or anything in between, making your own dough is a skill that shows off the progress you’ve made as a chef. If you’re just starting your culinary adventure, you may feel that you are not at the level to create your own recipes, which is where the masters come in handy.

To show off your new-found skills at your next dinner party, try using Bobby Flay’s recipe for perfect pizza dough:

The ingredients
3 ½ to 4 cups of bread flour
1 envelope instant dry yeast
1 ½ cups water
2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons olive oil, divided
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons kosher salt

The steps
First, place the bread flour, yeast, sugar and kosher salt into the bowl of your stand mixer and combine until incorporated. At the same time, mix the water with two tablespoons of oil and add slowly to the mixture until it forms a ball. Flour your clean countertop, pour out the dough ball and gently knead until smooth. Coat a large bowl with the remaining two teaspoons of olive oil, place the dough inside and cover with plastic wrap. Leave the bowl to rest in a warm area for one hour. Finally, on a floured surface, divide the dough into two equal pieces. Cover each with a kitchen towel, allow them to rest for 10 more minutes, then they’re ready to be used in your favorite pizza recipes!
