Spiced Apple Cider
Serves 10 – 12

Ingredients:

1 gallon apple cider or juice
1 tablespoon whole allspice
1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
4 whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks
½ orange, sliced
Brandy or bourbon (optional)

 

 

Method:

1. Combine apple cider, spices and orange slices in a large pot and bring to a simmer. Let cider simmer over medium-low heat until flavors meld, 15-30 minutes.
2. Strain cider through a sieve into another pot or heatproof bowl. Stir in brandy or bourbon to taste, if using.
3. Ladle spiced apple cider into mugs and serve warm.
