How To Make Homemade Trail Mix

When you’re feeling a little sluggish, grab a handful of trail mix for a quick energy boost. This is an easy snack to learn to cook and even easier to store for a quick bite on the go. You can stash a bag of mix in your car, at the office or in your gym bag. Prepare a high-energy variation of trail mix for long hikes or a sweeter version to curb cravings. You can make large batches and fill plastic baggies to put in the kids’ lunch boxes. Homemade trail mix, like homemade granola, requires little effort and is very cost-effective. Combine unsalted mixed nuts, pumpkin seeds and dried fruit with dark chocolate chips, for an energy-packed, delicious mix.
