How To Grill Onions

Fresh onions are crisp and flavorful, but once they are cooked, onions have a rich caramel touch and a taste that gives depth to any dish. Be careful not to burn the delicate onion rings unless you prefer the charred texture. To grill onions you can marinate them overnight or simply brush with oil and season with a dry spices and balsamic vinegar. If you have a grill basket it may be helpful to place the onions in the basket to cook to prevent them from falling into the grill. If you choose to place large slices on the grill the layers, take care when flipping them so the layers don’t fall apart. Grilled onions make a great addition to a mix of roasted or grilled vegetables as a side dish or as a topping on juicy grilled burgers. Grilled onions can also be added to numerous dishes like lasagna, rice pilaf, and salsa. In this video, Chef Mark will show you how to make grilled onions in a few simple steps. For more great cooking demonstration videos, subscribe to the LearnToCookOnline YouTube channel.
