How To Make Classic Hummus

This Middle Eastern dip has been very popular in Western culture. Often served with fresh vegetables and pita bread, hummus makes a deliciously healthy snack or appetizer. It can also be a flavorful addition to sandwiches and wraps. The dip is made from chick peas, tahini (a sesame seed paste), garlic, and lemon. The ingredients are blended in a food processor until they reach a smooth consistency and the result is often topped with extra virgin olive oil. You can play with flavors and make an extra garlicky version or a spicier adaptation with red chilies or cayenne pepper. In this video, Chef Mark gives an online cooking lesson on how to make a basic hummus. For more great cooking demonstration videos, subscribe to the LearnToCookOnline YouTube channel.
