How To Make Minestrone Soup

Minestrone soup is an Italian classic that changes with the seasons. The lightness of the soup makes it a perfect appetizer or lunch any time of year. This vegetable-heavy soup uses seasonal ingredients to maximize flavor and utility. Try adding Swiss chard, carrots, potatoes, celery and cannellini beans for a satisfying winter adaptation, and opt for tomatoes, zucchini and spinach during summer months. The broth can be either vegetable or chicken depending on taste. Minestrones typically contain beans and pasta as well to add more sustenance. Minestrone does not tie itself to a single recipe and is meant to adapt to whatever ingredients you have on hand. In this video, Chef Mark will show you how to make a classic minestrone soup in just a few easy steps. For more great cooking demonstration videos, subscribe to the LearnToCookOnline YouTube channel.
