How To Make Marshmallow S’mores

The name says it all: s’mores. These tasty, laid-back treats will always leave you wanting “some more.” This campfire staple’s simplicity is what makes it so great. As fall rolls in and more campfires are built, families will stock up on the three ingredients vital to this sweet treat. The perfect s’more is fun to make and is a great activity for the whole family. Toasting a marshmallow just right is quite an art, just be careful to not get the marshmallow too close to the flame or it may ignite, leaving you with a charred sugary lump. The perfect s’more is made by sandwiching a toasted or homemade marshmallow and chocolate bar between two graham crackers. The warmth from the gooey marshmallow will slightly melt the chocolate. Homemade Marshmallow Recipe:

Ingredients:
6 teaspoons gelatin
1/3 cup water
2 cups sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
½ cup water
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon clear vanilla

Method:
1. Soften the gelatin in 1/3 cup water
2. Combine sugar, light corn syrup, ½ cup water, salt and vanilla in a medium size sauce pot and bring to a boil. Pour into a mixing bowl, add the gelatin and whip until thick
3. Spread on an oiled pan and set for 4 hours at room temperature and dust with powdered sugar and cut into squares

S’mores Recipe:
Place graham cracker squares up-side down on a baking sheet and pipe the marshmallow mixture onto the graham crackers and then place another graham cracker on top. Allow to set for about 4 hours at room temperature and then dip half  in chocolate almond bark and place on a baking sheet until cool and until the chocolate is set
