Smoothies are great as an on-the-go breakfast or a satisfying snack any time of day. They even make for a healthy dessert. Smoothie shops have become increasingly popular across the United States and are often touted as a healthy beverage. Smoothies, however, can be made as decadent or healthy as you please. The flavor possibilities are endless and open to creativity. A smoothie is a blended beverage that can be made from any variety of fruits. They generally contain fruit, a thickening agent and a liquid. The ingredients you choose are up to you, but popular choices are fruit juice or milk for the liquid, and yogurt or peanut butter as a thickener. You can also add ice to your fresh fruit smoothie to thicken it and give it a refreshing chill. In this video, Chef Mark gives a demonstration of how to make a delicious nectarine smoothie. For more great cooking demonstration videos, subscribe to the LearnToCookOnline YouTube channel.
