How To Cook Snap Peas

The crisp, green pods pack a lot of nutrients into every bite. While snap peas are delicious fresh, they can also be cooked and make a wonderful addition to a stir fry or as a standalone side. These pods come in many different varieties and have a distinct sweet flavor. They are rich in vitamin K, vitamin B6, vitamin C and iron. One of the most popular ways to prepare snap peas is to stir fry them for an Asian inspired side dish. You can find fresh or frozen snap peas, but fresh ones will have that unique crisp texture that gives the pea pods their name. Prepare the peas by removing the ends or any string from each pod. Once the peas are clean, sauté the peas in a wok with oil, garlic, pepper and salt. Add other flavors to taste like scallions or soy sauce and you have the perfect side dish. In this video, Chef Mark provides an online cooking lesson for making snap peas. For more great cooking demonstration videos, subscribe to the LearnToCookOnline YouTube channel.
