How To Cook A Turkey Burger

If you are looking for a healthy alternative, substituting ground turkey breast for ground beef saves about 200 calories and 4 grams of saturated fat. But just because it’s healthier doesn’t mean it is flavorless. There are many wonderful turkey burger recipes that will have your family requesting them on a regular basis. This lighter version of a classic beef burger is also great for summertime when heavy meals are not as appetizing. This recipe also freezes very well, so you can make them ahead of time for a hassle-free lunch or dinner. If you’re feeling like you need some extra turkey, throw on some turkey bacon too! Turkey Burger Recipe

Ingredients:
4-5 oz. of freshly ground turkey
1-1/2 Tbsp . EV olive oil
2 Tbsp. minced onion
1 Tbsp. or so of bread crumbs
1/8 tsp. sea salt
1 tbsp. chopped pistachios
½ tsp. chili oil
1-2 tbsp. water for steaming the burger covered

Method:
1. Mix freshly ground turkey meat with all listed ingredients; you can adjust the amounts per your taste. Also you can use spices such as Indian garam masala, Thai curry or Tex Mex!
2. Form patty as shown and cook on a low to medium heat in non-stick pan.Turn burger over and steam slightly if desired with water to moisten
3. Turkey is best cooked to 160oF moist and tender
