Baked beans are a perfect dish to make when having a family or friend reunion. You will need some precooked navy beans, white onions, brown sugar, diced bacon, ketchup, mustard and, grandmas molasses. To start, you will want to first heat up a pan or dish that is stove and oven safe; because later the beans will be placed in the oven to cook. First add the bacon to the heated pan and then add in the onions, cook until bacon is crispy and onions have been caramelized. Add garlic, beans, mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, and molasses. You will want to keep mixing the ingredients in the pan so they do not burn. After putting all ingredients in the pan look at liquid consistency and if it is too dry you may want to add some water or chicken stock. Once again you do not want it to get too dry because then you run the chance of the ingredients burning. Finally, put the beans in the oven at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes to finish the cooking process.
