How To Make Homemade Ranch Dressing

Ranch dressing is a favorite of many people. Whether it is layered over a salad or used for dipping, this creamy dressing has a unique blend of flavors and zing. Make a low-fat variety by using non-fat Greek yogurt in place of sour cream. Combine a garlic paste and fresh herbs with mayonnaise and Greek yogurt. After the base is made, you can add Worcestershire sauce, spices and vinegar. If you like to have a subtle kick, add in a dash of cayenne pepper and hot sauce. The heat will be masked by the creaminess of the dressing but it will add depth of flavor. Whisk in low-fat buttermilk until the dressing reaches the desired consistency. You can keep it thicker for a dip or add more buttermilk for a salad dressing. Be sure to allow the dressing to sit in the fridge overnight so the flavors have a chance to blend and create the familiar flavor you know and love. In this video, Chef Mark will show you how to make a creamy ranch dressing. For more great cooking demonstration videos, subscribe to the LearnToCookOnline YouTube channel.
