How To Cook Brussel Sprouts

Brussels sprouts are wonderful vegetable that can be prepared in a number of different ways. These leafy green veggies look like miniature cabbages, and are extremely nutritious. They can make a wonderful side dish for a holiday meal and pair perfectly with the warm fall and winter flavors. People who have an aversion to this vegetable may have had Brussels sprouts that weren’t cooked properly – giving the vegetables a bad name. To prepare an unforgettable Brussels sprouts dish that even the pickiest eater will enjoy, quarter the Brussels sprouts and caramelize them with oil, diced onions and bacon. Once they have browned, you can add some toasted pecans or almonds and toasted bread crumbs. Add a little bit of lemon juice, white wine, parsley and seasoning to give the perfect amount of freshness and acidity. In this video, Chef Mark gives an online cooking lesson on how to cook a surprisingly delicious take on Brussels sprouts. For more great cooking demonstration videos, subscribe to the LearnToCookOnline YouTube channel.
