How To Make Pound Cake

A great recipe to have under your belt is a basic vanilla pound cake! It’s classic, easy, and you can experiment as much as you’d like.  There are only a few basic ingredients in this pound cake, start off with creaming the butter and sugar with the vanilla in the mixer. Now incorporate the eggs and flour into the mix, and make sure to scrape down everything in your bowl to make sure you’re getting every ingredient mixed together. Fill up your loaf pan about ¾ of the way with the batter, and then baked the cake at 350 degrees for about 35-40 min or insert a toothpick to see if it comes out clean. You can decorate your cake with chocolate or caramel sauce which will add some color and a bit of contrast, take some whip cream and play with it, finish it off by garnishing with fruit. Pound Cake Recipe:

½ lb. or 2 sticks butter
4 eggs
8 oz. all-purpose flour
8 oz. sugar
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

1. Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cream butter and sugar with electric or stand mixer until incorporated and light. Add eggs and vanilla scrape down the bowl. Add dry ingredients and mix until well incorporated, scraping down the bowl to insure all ingredients are properly mixed.
3. Place in greased loaf pan and bake until firm to the touch and a tooth pick inserted comes out clean. For about 35-40 minutes.
4. Cool and serve warm or room temperature.
